Monfortino 1996 (750ml), made by Giovanni conterno, one of the greatest Barolo producers ever, is the quintessence pf “traditional” Barolo: rich, powerful, massively structured and capable of very long development in a bottle. The historic monfortino, aged in the barrel for six to eight years, is only made in special vintages. The 1996 vintage was an exceptional year for Piedmont, especially for Barolo and Barbaresco.
Monfortino is a name synonymous with the best of the best barolos, benefitting the label given to barolos, ‘wine of kings and king of wines’.
